Akah City Youth Carnival set for maiden edition.

A cultural fiesta which will showcase the socio-cultural heritage and the beauties of Umuaka people has been scheduled to take place in Umuaka town this December. A group known as Akah City Youth Initiative which is the brain behind the organization has successfully put all efforts in motion in order to host a successful event. Last week, Umuaka Times had an interview with the chairman of the group, Prince Ukonu Austin C and the vice chairman, Prince Chukwuebuka Duru. The duo who spoke about the event also hinted that the event will include beauty pageant segment which will at last select the Male and Female Face of Umuaka, otherwise known as Miss and Mr Umuaka 2021.
Some social activities pencilled down to add colour to the event which holds from December 29 till 31 include, live band display, several cultural displays, talk shows, comedy, talent hunt and performances by talented Akalites and others. There is also a segment for capacity building on skills acquisition initiatives.
In a press statement signed by the duo of Prince Ukonu Austin C and Prince Chukwuebuka Duru, which a copy of it was made available to Umuaka Times, the aims and objectives of this event include but not limited to the enhancement of peace and unity among the youthful Akalites. To build the capacity of Umuaka youths on how to part ways with violence and other criminal activities.
From what Umuaka Times gathered, participants who will take part in the program are already indicating their interests to be a part of the event.
