Sir Timmy O: Akalites pay tributes in Lagos.

Akalites living in Lagos on Thursday 29 April 2021, gathered at the Lagos Mainland residence of the late Dr Sir Tim Obiwiru, a former lecturer at University of Lagos who died a couple of weeks ago. Several people. colleagues, business associates, friends and relations of the deceased came from far and near to pay their last respect to the man whom many described as a top community leader, motivational speaker, great mathematician and a big source of inspiration to many in their academic pursuits.
Many who spoke at the event in honour of the departed mentioned how Dr Obiwuru positively made some great impacts in the lives of either themselves or their relations and others.
In his opening speech, Chief Okey Nwanyanwu the president of Old Umuaka National Union Lagos Branch, described the death of Dr Obiwuru as a big blow and a shock to everyone who knew him. He told the audience that he was yet to come to terms with the shocking reality of Sir TimmyO’s death.
Mrs Chinyere Onyewueke, president Women’s Wing, Old Umuaka National Union Lagos Branch, told the gathering that Dr Obiwuru during his lifetime, touched many lives and changed many lives too.She also said that through the connections of the man, some communities were able to receive free NEPA transformers.
Mr Mbadiwe, a colleague of Obiwuru at University of Lagos who also spoke at the event used the opportunity to appeal to Akalites who gathered at the event never to abandon the family left behind by the rare gem.
Other dignitaries like Chief Bob Dike, Mr Chika Dike, Mr Goddy Iwuoha and many others spoke good of the late Obiwuru and prayed that God will receive his soul.
The burial date of the late Dr Tim Obiwuru has been slated to hold in Ibele community Umuaka in Njaba LGA Imo State.
