Top politicians grace Chief Ikenna Duru’s award ceremony.

Chief Ikenna Duru, a high profile Akalite, pharmacist, philanthropist and top community leader on January 14, 2021 received his Umuaka Times Covid19 Charity Award in his Owerri residence. The event which was supposed to hold at Concorde Hotel Owerri was shifted to another venue by the awardee himself due to some sudden reasons.
By the time Umuaka Times team arrived at the venue of the event, many top class Imo politicians and businessmen were already seated.
Hours later, when Chief Duru called on the publisher of Umuaka Times Darlington Ojy Onwukwe to tell the audience the mission of Umuaka Times, the publisher greeted them and went straight to the point. He made the audience understand that in Umuaka, every good work has its special reward and Chief Ikenna Duru who has been helping the community in diverse ways also provided palliatives to his community during the Covid19 lockdown. The award was then presented to Chief Duru.
In his response after receiving the award, Chief Ikenna Duru thanked Umuaka Times for the honour and promised to stand with Umuaka Times anytime his attention is needed.
