Tribute to My Beloved Mother. By Ken Nwanyanwu.

3 min read

Mummy, you are simply the best. And you are better than all of them. You certainly left the world a better place than you found it. And for that I thank you. Thank you for your dedication to motherhood, family, duty and your unrelenting faith in God. Mummy thank you for all the love you had shown us. Thank you for being caring and kind. It is evident that you advanced the family you married into beyond expectations. You left the world a better place than you found it because you taught and educated your children, you fed and cared for your family and those around you. Your love for humility

and your kindness remain unmatchable. You made peace when peace mattered. Your patience, peace-loving, achievements and your experience of the world remains the envy of many around you.

Mummy, when I heard the unimaginable news of the reckless abandon with which you were murdered, I thought I was having a horrible nightmare. Mummy the sad and unexpected news of your death was a moment of extreme sadness, immense pain and loss to us all. The shock of your sudden death is overwhelmingly strong. It was and still is, difficult to imagine and comprehend that you are gone forever. Just like that. I am so sad.

On 4th February 2021, you were on your way to morning Mass when the disaster struck. I am really and truly sorry I was not there to drop you off to your morning Mass. I am really sorry mummy.

Mummy I am sad and heartbroken because they took you from us far too soon because you were not given the opportunity to say goodbye to those you love and cherish.

I am sad because it’s saddening you have gone forever mum. I am sad because it’s disheartening that you were in pain in your last few days.

I am really sad because I am really incredibly upset about your death sometimes I wondered if the invisible tears will ever run dry.

You are simply the best. And you are better than all of them.

If I ever found solace, it is the conviction that you are with the Angles of the Lord right now. The book of Ecclesiastes tells us there is a time for everything. The message centers on God’s ultimate authority in heaven and on earth. God is the one who appoints each moment. Nothing stays the same, and we as God’s children, must learn to accept and adjust to the ebb and flow of God’s design. Some seasons are difficult, and we may not understand what God is doing. In those times, we must humbly submit to the Lord’s plans and trust that he is working out his good purpose as ever. The word of God brings forth strength and fortitude to bear your loss.

May your gentle soul rest in peace and in the bosom of the Lord.
