From his new base in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary, Reverend Father Emmanuel Eburuaja, the Father Di Oha Mma 1 of Mgbee has reached out to Umuaka people and appealed to them to stay safe and continue to live in peace during this Covid19 dangerous era. While responding to questions from the Umuaka Times correspondent in Hungary, the Catholic priest described Umuaka as a great city and stressed the need for the community to work on the moral values of her youths. \u201cUmuaka is a great city. To keep Umuaka to a high standard, there is need to work on the moral life of the youths. Morality is going down so much now.\u201d This message was contained in a yet to be published marathon interview the priest granted to Umuaka Times a few days ago.<\/p>\n

Father Eburuaja went further to advise parents in Umuaka to stop the unnecessary comparisons based on riches, which they make over their children and the children of others in the community, According to him, \u201cParents should stop comparing their sons with other children. This has led many sons of Umuaka into evil deeds in order to meet up as they would say, so as to please their parents.\u201d He concluded that too much emphasis on money by parents is the root cause of moral breakdown in Umuaka today. He regretted that this development \u201chas misled our children and has led to a sharp decline in academic education in Umuaka.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rev Father went ahead to proffer solutions to the moral question in Umuaka today. \u201cFor Umuaka to come back to its glories again there should be more programs and emphasis on education than money. Let us look for a way to encourage those youths that have decided to embrace education and other means of authentic ways of life in Umuaka. As I am seeing the youths now, illegal means of wealth, may destroy the future of this our God- given community.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Father Eburuaja, it has become unfortunate that many families in Umuaka today have failed to see anything bad in the social vices he outlined. \u201cBut I tell you, many families\u00a0are sitting on time bomb. Posterity may ask us, what did you do when all these were happening?\u201d<\/p>\n

Still in his message to Umuaka, Father Eburuaja feared that over 70 percent of parents in the community is not serious to condemn evils that happen in many families. Eburuaja went on to express\u00a0 his fears over the future of Umuaka. On the need for the existence of peace in the community, he made a passionate appeal to all the communities in Umuaka Ebe Iri.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to use this opportunity to beg all Akalites to withdraw all unnecessary police cases. Almost all communities in Umuaka have Ezeship cases. This, beloved\u00a0brothers and sisters, militates against the growth and authentic unity cum brotherhood of this great land Umuaka. Let the elites and Patriots of Umuaka, come together and find a solution for total resolution of all these unwarranted ezeship fights in Umuaka. If this is not done, tomorrow may be worse than today.\u201d But if we are able to do this, the days of Akajiaku, will shine back on this community, when people put Umuaka first before his family.\u201d<\/p>\n
