The life and death as well as the burial and all the events that greeted the demise of late Mrs Francis Nkechi Austin Agbahiwe remind one of the song by the famous British songwriter, Elton John, titled Candle in the Wind. In the song, Elton John sings, \u201cGoodbye England’s rose<\/p>\n

May you ever grow in our hearts<\/p>\n

You were the grace that placed itself<\/p>\n

Where lives were torn apart<\/p>\n

You called out to our country<\/p>\n

And you whispered to those in pain<\/p>\n

Now you belong to heaven<\/p>\n

And the stars spell out your name.\u201d<\/p>\n

For those who witnessed the testimonies given by members of Winners Chapel during the burial of the deceased last week, it was as if the song was made for her by Mr Elton John. Francis Nkechi Agbahiwe was an epitome of \u201cthe grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart.\u201d That was why on Friday December 27, 2024, men and women, old and young gathered at the country home of Dr Austin Agbahiwe to bid final goodbye to his wife who lived only for 47 years. By the time Umuaka Times reporters joined the motorcade conveying the remains of the late Mrs Agbahiwe home, they had already left Owerri city and were making it to Umuaka. The reporters had to make a U-turn and pursued the motorcade in order to join.<\/p>\n

After more than 1 hour, the corpse and others such as power bikers who followed the motorcade arrived at the Agbahiwe\u2019s compound in Ibele. In few minutes time, the master of the ceremony announced that it was time for people to start paying their homage for the woman they so much loved.<\/p>\n

At the end of the segment which last about 25 minutes, church service began. A high profile pastor who led the Port Harcourt Road branch of Winners\u2019 Chapel to the event was called to preach. Praise and worship, prayers and testimonies characterized the preaching by the winning man of God. When he finished his gospel, he made an alter call for those who would want to give their lives to Jesus. Soon after, it was time to carry the casket to the graveside for interment.<\/p>\n

At this time, more people had gathered at the compound and most of them joined to witness the interment. After some more prayers and songs, the body of a 47 year old woman known as Francis Nkechi Austin Agbahiwe was lowered into the six feet grave. According to Christian teachings, the body will be there until the last day when all the dead will rise from their graves to meet God. End of discussions.<\/p>\n
