The family of the late Ichie Louis Ezerie Okpoko Duruamuka of Duruamuka dynasty has announced the burial date of the amiable Obinwanne Christian mother, grandmother and daughter of the late Mrs Ezinne (Odoziaku) Nwanyimma Virginia Okpoko.<\/p>\n

In a press statement issued and signed by one of the children of the late Ezinne, Mr Melitus Okpoko disclosed that the burial of his mother will hold on Thursday January 8, 2026 in Ezeunamba Ubani of Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community Njaba LGA Imo State.<\/p>\n

On the activities of the burial of the octogenarian Ezinne, Umuaka Times local affairs correspondents gathered that on Wednesday 7th January 2026, a Christian wakes night and service of songs will hold in the compound of her husband in Ezeunamba Ubani Obinwanne. This event kicks off by 8 pm.

On Thursday 8 January 2026, the remains of the late Ezinne Okpoko will leave the mortuary of Umuaka Community Hospital and arrive her late father’s compound in Ekezie village of Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community for a brief stopover. By 8:30, her remains will arrive her husband’s family compound in Ezeunamba Ubani for a lying in state where family and friends, fellow Christian mothers and others will have time to pay her their last respect and wish her good bye.<\/p>\n

By 10 am, a requiem Mass will hold for the repose of her soul at St Patrick’s Catholic Parish Obinwanne. Interment follows immediately after the Mass.<\/p>\n

The family will embark on a thanksgiving Mass on Sunday 11, January 2025 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish by 7 am.<\/p>\n

The late Mrs Ezinne (Odoziaku) Nwanyimma Virginia Okpoko was a devoted Christian mother and a former woman leader of Obinwanne women. She contributed heavily towards the role of Christian mothers in Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community. She died at the age of 82 and was survived by her children, grandchildren and a host of family relations and friends.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
