One Las Vegas spree alone, Umuaka Times correspondents in America confirmed from court filings, saw $4 million spent on a giant marble chess set and 10-foot glass urns. He rented apartments in Trump Tower, paid $60,000 a month for mansions when $15,000 houses were available, and kept a staff of 150. No reasonable businessman would ever think of this!<\/p>\n
People kept asking why Michael never released new songs when he was broke. Honestly, he tried and failed. After 2005, he moved to Bahrain as guest of Sheikh Abdullah, who paid $2.2 million for his legal bills in exchange for a new album, autobiography and stage play. Jackson took the money, recorded nothing, and was sued for $7 million. He recorded 60-70 songs between 2006 and 2009, including work with Akon and http:\/\/Will.i.am, but perfectionism and paranoia stopped him. As our correspondents in America were told, “He felt music wasn’t selling like before, why release now?”<\/p>\n
His final solution for Michael was the This Is It tour. Announced March 5, 2009 at the O2 Arena in London, 10 shows became 50 shows after demand. 750,000 tickets sold in 4 hours. 2 million people crashed websites trying to buy. AEG Live said the first 10 shows alone would earn him \u00a350 million ($80.1 million). The full 50 shows were projected at over $400 million. If he extended to a 260-show world tour, forensic accountant Arthur Erk testified it would have earned $1.1 to $1.5 billion – enough to clear everything. In a filing on September 17, 2026, the estate is even fighting over $9 million in lawyers’ fees, arguing their work turned a bankrupt legacy into a billion-dollar empire.<\/p>\n
Michael Jackson died borrowing money to pay his light bill. He now makes $105 million a year in death, the top-earning dead celebrity for 15 years running. Neverland, which swallowed his fortune, sits quiet in Santa Barbara; no zoo, no train, no music.
