As Dr Tony Obiwuru was known for assisting people\u00a0 via his spirit of academic engineering, many lives were touched and he indeed inspired thousands of people both in and outside Igboland. Many graduates of today despite their ethnic origins,\u00a0 have been testifying how the great scholar positively shaped their lives towards academics. One of such individuals is\u00a0 Barrister Ms Gloria Akanuo, a prominent Lagos lawyer from Uba Umuaka.<\/p>\n

From the observations established by Umuaka Times, Barrister Akano, despite her seriously tight schedule has been fully taking part in some of the activities mapped out to bade Obiwuru, the final farewell he deserved. First was when the Old Umuaka National Union Lagos Branch\u00a0 paid the Obiwuru family a condolence visit in his Lagos residence, Barrister Akano was there and she stayed till the end of the program. As if that was not enough, Akano also flew into Owerri last week in order to take part in the burial of\u00a0 the man who she had deep respect for. She was present at the wakes night and in the church for the requiem Mass and more. When Umuaka Times approached her for a brief interview, she confirmed that indeed Sir Timmy O was a source of positive influence on her and she concluded by saying that nothing would be so much for Timmy. “How I wish I can do more.”<\/p>\n

My Tribute\u00a0 to\u00a0 Sir Timmy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I find it so difficult\u00a0 to write\u00a0 this tribute because it\u00a0 is still unbelievable\u00a0\u00a0 that you have gone\u00a0 the way\u00a0 all mortals\u00a0 go.<\/p>\n

Thank you \u00a0for all the support\u00a0 you\u00a0 gave\u00a0 to me in University\u00a0 of Lagos\u00a0 when no one believed\u00a0 I could amount\u00a0 to anything\u00a0 in life, but you decided\u00a0 to help\u00a0 me. I remember the\u00a0 day I cried\u00a0 to your office for transportation\u00a0 back home after lectures and you gave me N2000 ( Two Thousand\u00a0 Naira . ) It was a whole lot for transportation and to feed my children for weeks .<\/p>\n

You and your wife encouraged me to always\u00a0 bring the\u00a0 children to your home for Sunday rice which\u00a0 was the custom because I couldn’t afford\u00a0 it then .<\/p>\n

I will forever\u00a0 remain\u00a0 grateful .<\/p>\n

Last year2020, on the occasion of your birthday, when I called you and you picked my call after several years that we stopped communicating\u00a0 as a result\u00a0 of cheap blackmail against\u00a0 me , I promised\u00a0 to come over with my kids to say thank you for your benevolence but I never knew God was already\u00a0 setting you up\u00a0 for a better assignment .<\/p>\n

I\u00a0 pray that Almighty God will look upon your good deeds and grant\u00a0 you\u00a0 eternal\u00a0 rest.<\/p>\n

Rest on in peace\u00a0 Sir\u00a0 Timmy.<\/p>\n
