Dr Gertie Chimeka Anyanwoke who is also a well-known social worker both in America and Nigeria disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Umuaka Times during the burial ceremonies of the late sage and royal father of Nsukwe Ubakala.
From the time of her marriage to the royal family, Dr Anyanwoke, an infectious disease specialist in Baton Rouge, with over 24 years of experience in the medical field, told Umuaka Times that her late father in-law did not only see her as a wife to his late son but he also took her as a daughter and showed her love all through his life and reign.
According to her, the royal father was good in advising her and making sure that she did not lack anything nor suffer from anything. “You know my husband died very early and my father in-law immediately became my champion.”
Dr Anyanwoke recalled that on a certain day, her father in-law called her and inquired to know what usually made her happy. “I told him that family, communities, singing and dancing make me happy. He smiled and told me to continue to do those things that make me happy and worry less. Do you know that that was the best advice I have ever got?”
Umuaka Times local affairs correspondents gathered that the death of HRH Eze Samuel Iheukwumere Anyanwoke, the Isiala 1 of Nsukwe Ubakala poses a hard blow not only to Dr Gertie Chimeka Anyanwoke and the large family of the royal father but the entire community where the king reigned during his era. The great cultural ceremonies carried out during the burial and rites of passage of the monarch are great testimonies that will last long in the memories of the king’s subjects. HRH Eze Samuel Iheukwumere Anyanwoke was a man who came, saw and conquered.
May the soul of the king rest in peace.
