Oghu Umuaka Lagos to hold on August 17.

The Lagos Branch of Umuaka Municipal Council otherwise known as Akah Ebe Iri will on Sunday being Sunday August 17 2025 hold her yearly Akah Ebe Iri Oghu Cultural Dance. The event which will take place under the distinguished chairmanship of a Lagos based businessman and an illustrious son of Umuaka, Chief Goddy Chima Iwuoha will be held in the premises of Christian Council of Nigeria located at W-Close 5th Avenue Festac Town.

A press statement issued and signed by the chairman of the Oghu Organizing Committee, Mr Chidi Iwuoha, disclosed that the vice chairman of the event will be Mr Vincent Ukachi. Other prominent personalities who will be gracing the high level oghu cultural event include Chief Gideon C Umunnakwe (Onwa), High Chief Arthur Obieze (Okwadike) and Mr Lambert Ibe.
The Father of the Day is an Uba Umuaka born engineer in the person of Chief Bob Dike. Mr Chinedu Iwu the chairman of Old Umuaka National Union is also another prominent personality expected at the event to add colours to the yearly event.
Umuaka Times gathered that Mr Chidi Iwuoha, the Chairman Planning Committee and Mr Austin Dike, the secretary of the committee have been working round the clock to ensure that the 2025 edition of the Oghu Cultural Festival will be a total success.
The time of the event has been fixed at 12 mid-day. It is expected that Akalites living in Lagos will storm the event with their family and friends.
