19 students graduate from Obinwanne Adult Education program.
2 min readA total of 19 adult students (all women) have graduated from the adult education program of Power Foundation otherwise known as Papa Onye Eze Women Empowerment and Relief Foundation. The graduation ceremony which was took place in the premises of Unity Primary School of Obinwanne Umuaka was held on December 15, 2023.
By the time Umuaka Times arrived at the venue of the event, Mrs Magret Ezeala, the widow of the late Professor Jude Ezeala whom the foundation was established in his honour, was already seated with his son Barrister Jude Ezeala, the Ebubeagu of Igboland and other important guests who graced the occasion. The graduating students were also seen dressed in their academic gowns and waiting for the event to fully kickoff.
Mrs Immaculate Uche, the coordinator of Papa Onye Eze Women Empowerment and Relief Foundation was also at the venue of the event with some of the teachers who were dressed in academic gowns as well. From the chat Mrs Uche had with Umuaka Times, it was disclosed that the program lasted for three months and each of the students studied English language, mathematics, Christian Religious Studies, health education and Igbo language.
While rating the performances of the students, Mrs Uche confirmed that the whole students did very well in their studies and expressed deep joy that they were all graduating in flying colours.
On the need for improvement on the students for subsequent graduations, Mrs Immaculate Uche recommended that the program should be extended from three months to six months. According to her, “this will make the students to learn and understand more in their studies.”
Both the graduating students and their teachers used the opportunity and thanked the royal father of the community HRM, Eze Justin Ezeala for establishing the foundation and running the free adult education program for the Obinwanne women.
