2 min readRecords were yesterday being Friday June 28, 2024 broken and new ones set at the just concluded Imo State University beauty pageant when a female student of the great institution and a public health student from the Department of Health Science won two highly competitive positions in the Imo State University Beauty Pageant 2024 edition.
In an Umuaka Times exclusive brief interview with the 19 year old beauty queen, Miss Precious Amaka Iwuchukwu who hails from Ugbele Akah Autonomous Community, she disclosed that she did not only win the beauty pageant as Miss IMSU Popularity 2024 but she also won Miss IMSU Ambassador 2024.
By the time she arrived her hostel and department after the victory, it was jubilations unlimited as friends, well-wishers and course mates all gathered to greet and congratulate the double beauty queen.
Highly dependable sources that spoke to the local affairs correspondents of Umuaka Times in Owerri last week, disclosed that the beauty competition was in two categories. Category A was for male contestants while Category B was for female contestants. In all, 40 contestants took part in the project and 16 winners eventually emerged under different titles.
Owerri based top industry watchers who monitored the event confirmed that it was a free and fair contest where students showcased their beauties and handsomeness. A particular source told Umuaka Times that both the boys and girls displayed deep intelligence and exposure as they were answering questions from the anchor of the show.
Due to time frame, the beauty queen could not confirm to Umuaka Times if she would be embarking on any pet project or not come the next 12 months. Mr Athan Iwuchukwu, a businessman based in Angola and the father of the new beauty queen, told Umuaka Times that his family and the entire Iwuchukwu family welcomed the good news with open hands. He also assured the general public that the family will make sure that the victory of their daughter as a beauty queen will not negatively affect her education and lifestyle.
