Oghu Okwuama London: 3 winners emerge.
1 min readThree winners have emerged from the dancers who took part in the last week event of Oghu Okwuama London competition, held in Eke Ibele Central Stadium. The dancers who were selected from some villages across Umuaka were penciled down for a stiff oghu dance competition where the first among them would go home with the sum of N60,000. After a careful selection by the panel of judges selected from Achara, Obinwanne and Amiyi, three winners finally emerged.
It was Chief Goddy Amadike the oghu chief priest that announced the winners from the bottom to the top. According to the announcement made by Chief Amadike, the dancer whose tag was letter B, came first. His name is Chinonye Eboh and popularly known as Derry. He scored 69.6 points to win the star prize of 60,000 Naira. Nwadike Collins, the dancer who had the G tag scored 69.2 percent while the dancer who goes by the name Ifeanyi Irechukwu came third with 55.7 percent.
Other dancers who were not included in the three best dancers, were given N10, 000 each as consolation prizes. The person who took the second position went home with N30,000 while the third person smiled home with N20,000.
A spectator from Uba and some others who were not pleased with the result of the competition, came to complain to Umuaka Times that the result was not satisfactory to them.
