Ikwubuo, Nwokeoji, Eze Ikeme and Arthur Obieze receive state awards.

Yesterday being Saturday 14 October 2023 was a day the statewide integrity and public relations image of Umuaka Municipal Council of Njaba LGA Imo State tremendously gathered momentum. On this day, the state owned Nigerian Statesman newspaper recognized four illustrious sons of the community in an exclusive award ceremony which was held at the banquet hall of Rockview Hotel Owerri.

Several high profile personalities across the state on the eventful day who came from across the 27 local government areas in the state received several awards ranging from one category to another. The Akalites whose names were penciled down for the exclusive and highly prestigious awards include High Chief Arthur Obieze (the Okwadike 1), Dr Eddy Ikwubuo (Agunechemba), Engineer Emmanuel Igbokwuwe (Nwokeoji) and Engineer Eze Ikeme (Cee). Umuaka Times gathered that each of the Akalites who bagged an award during the ceremony was in stout recognition of his contributions towards the development of his community in diverse ways and endeavours.

Among the four awardees from Umuaka, Dr Eddy Ikwubuo and High Chief Arthur Obieze were present to receive their awards personally while Engineer Emmanuel Igbokwuwe and Engineer Eze Cee Ikeme were represented by Mr Uche Onyewuzor and Dr Eddy Ikwubuo respectively.

During the presentation of the awards, the presenter emphatically extoled the awardees for their inestimable contributions towards the development of their towns and local government councils across the state.

Speaking with Umuaka Times correspondent immediately after the award ceremony on behalf of other awardees from Umuaka, High Chief Arthur Obieze thanked the Imo Statesman and the organizers of the event for finding them worthy to receive the awards. He demonstrated his happy state of mind and that of his fellow awardees over the highly honourable awards. “We are very happy today for these awards and it really shows that Imo State Government has taken notice of our contributions and as it is said, whom much is given, much is expected. This is a wake-up call to all the awardees. Thanks a lot once again.”
