An Umuezeala Uba Umuaka born up and coming football prodigy, Ajuka Nzubechi Oscar has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Sports, football coaches, clubs and managers of football business in Nigeria to give the young talented footballers the opportunity to showcase their talents and focus less on the already established footballers.

Ajuka Nzubechi Oscar who is well known by his football name Tanko or Phil Foden, made this call last week during an exclusive interview with the local affairs correspondents of Umuaka Times. According to the 19 year old left winger who disclosed to Umuaka Times that he has played for several clubs including Heartland Academy, Patros FC, Acquire FC, Rock Stars of Edo State, Campus FC and TBC of Abuja, there are many challenges that need to be urgently addressed in the Nigerian football industry and hub.

The football prodigy lamented that the issue of football agents and coaches mainly focusing on elevating the already established footballers is a serious problem that kills the young and highly talented footballers who are sadly not popular yet.

“If our football handlers will remember that young footballers are as powerful as if not more than the already established ones, then there is hope for the Nigerian football.”

As a young footballer, Oscar told Umuaka Times that he and his teams across the country have at one time or another won football trophies and continue to do so. In 2018, Oscar and his team mates won both FA Cup and other highly respected trophies, “yet we are not established footballers. Then think how it will be, if we are established fully,” he told Umuaka Times.

As the interview lasted, Umuaka Times asked the football prodigy to name any club if given the opportunity, he would like to play for. He was not specific at all but he simply puts it thus. “Any good club in Europe can be good for a starter like me.”

For those who have in one way or another assisted Oscar in his chosen football career, he made a passionate appeal to Umuaka Times to salute the following Akalites on his behalf. Hon Obinna Orgazi, Chief Vitalis Nwanyanwu, Mr Paschal Ala Onwukwe, Mr Charles Okoro, Father Eburuaja of Father Eburuaja FC, Coach Frank Boise, and his family for all their support. Today Oscar hopes to make it big in Europe as soon as the help arrives his way.
