The Obiechefu family of Umuisii in Umuezeala Uba Umuaka Autonomous Community Njaba LGA has announced the passage of her son, father, grandfather, elder brother and husband, the late Mr Simon Uzoechnobi Obiechefu. This information was contained in a press statement signed and issued by Mr Gervase Obiechefu, the first son of the deceased on behalf of the family. A copy of the press statement was made available to Umuaka Times.
According to the press statement, the burial arrangement for the late Mr Simon Obiechefu begins on Wednesday 31 July 2024 where a Christian wakes night will be observed in his honour in his compound. On Thursday 1 August 2024, the remains of the former Cameroun based businessman will leave the mortuary of Umuaka Community Hospital by 7:30 am for his compound in Umuisii, Umuezeala Uba in a motorcade.
By 10 am, a funeral service will hold in his compound for the repose of his soul.
By 1 pm on the same day, internment will follow immediately. Also by Sunday being 4th of August 2024, a thanksgiving service will be held by Christ Holy Church Odozi Obodo. The service will hold in the Obiechefu compound Umuezeala uba.
The late Mr Simon Obiechefu who was a devout Christian father was born in 1934. He died at the age of 89 after a brief illness.
Umuaka Times gathered that family and friends who had one dealing or another with the man during his lifetime confirmed to Umuaka Times that he lived an upright life as he was known for his peaceful dispositions.
Left to mourn the late octogenarian are his wife, children, grandchildren and a host of others.
