The office of HRH Eze Henry Izuchukwu Ojinnaka of (Uba) Umuaka has congratulated Chief Nnodim Marcellinus Duru, Esq. on his elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN. This message was contained in a congratulatory letter dated October 3, 2024 which went into circulation last week in honour of the Kano based legal luminary. In the message, the royal father expressed his heartfelt appreciation over the elevation of Chief Nnodim Marcellinus Duru (locally known in Umuaka as Chief Marcel Duru, the Akajiugo 1 of Umuaka) to the position of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN. “You are the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Umuaka has produced. You have been a very positive, solid, trustworthy, upfront and upright man. We your family are proud of you. Umuaka, Njaba and Imo State are also proud of you.”
A document Umuaka Times came across last week states thus: “The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has shortlisted 87 lawyers for the award of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) for 2024.
The secretary of the LPPC, Hajo Bello, who doubles as the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, announced this in a public notice on Thursday.”
Chief Nnodim Marcellinus Duru (locally known in Umuaka as Chief Marcel Duru, the Akajiugo 1 of Umuaka) and an illustrious son of Uba Umuaka was number 4 on the list of 82 lawyers decorated on Monday last week.
