Igu Afo Ndugba Cultural Festival to hold on Dec 29.
2 min readThe program time table for the famous Igu Afo Ndugba Cultural Festival for 2024 has been released. From the reports Umuaka Times correspondents in the United States gathered from one of the top stake holders for the event, the date for the historic event has been fixed on Sunday Dec. 29, 2024.
According to a highly dependable source that spoke with Umuaka Times some weeks back, the sons and daughters of the community both those in Nigeria and diaspora are expected to grace the event.
Also expected at the event are top government officials from the state and beyond as well as other highly placed individuals of note from the public and the organized private sector.
From a press statement issued and signed by the royal father of Ndugba Autonomous Community, HRH Eze I.O.U Ikejiofor, the Igwe Gbajiri Egbe IV and the Agbogidi II of Isu, the highly celebrated event will hold at the palace of the royal father known as Ishi Obi Ukwu Ndugba. Umuaka Times also gathered that the highlights of the event include church service which will be celebrated at St. Damian’s Catholic Church Amandugba. The service has been billed to start by 10 am.
By 12 midday, the royal father of the community, HRH Eze I.O.U. Ikejiofor will confer chieftaincy titles on some of the deserving and industrious indigenes of the community. This segment of the occasion is expected to be highly memorable as many families will be available to cheer their sons as they receive the chieftaincy titles from the royal father.
Musical entertainment of guests via cultural displays will begin by 1 pm and it will last till 2 pm. Refreshments by guests will follow immediately after the cultural display of music.
Umuaka Times also gathered that the contributions of HRH, Eze I.O.U Ikejiofor, Mr Brendan Chinaemerem Nwanesi, the president general of Afu and double Chief E. Iwuji, the Uduakommiri1 of Amandugba and the chairman of the organizing committee went a long way to ensuring the success of the historic event.
