Umuaka Times Releases Her List of 2024 Merit Award Winners.

The 2024 list of Umuaka Times Merit Award winners has been released and unlike before, only 5 awards are to be distributed this year. A lot of factors played major roles for this sharp decline. Economic and insecurity factors are the major players. Below is a list of Akalites who have exceptionally done very well towards the development of the Umuaka town.
UMUAKA TIMES MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD 2024.
(1). WINNER: Chief Nnodim Marcellinus Duru (SAN).
JUSTIFICATIONS: Chief Nnodim Marcellinus Duru the Akajiugo 1 of Umuaka has not only established vibrant law firms both in Nigeria and UK, he, his wife and children are all lawyers. Above all these feats, he is the first Akalite to become a Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN!
(2). UMUAKA TIMES ROYAL FATHER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2024.
WINNER: HRM Eze Justin Uzoma Ezeala.
JUSTIFICATIONS: The Obinwanne monarch in 2024 embarked on several empowerment programs in Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community and in Umuaka Municipal Council too. Uncountable number of persons has at different times benefitted from his empowerment programs.
(2). Community Service Posthumous Awards.
WINNERS: Mr Emeka Iwuala, Mr Johnpaul Tochukwu Okpara, Mr Orjiwuru Stanley and Mr Onwuneme Chigozie. May their souls rest in peace.
JUSTIFICATIONS: These men were murdered in Uba Umuaka on Sunday July 7 2024 while on duty as security men.
(3). INDIGENOUS INVESTOR OF THE YEAR 2024.
WINNER: Hon Chimezie Ehirim.
JUSTIFICATIONS: Hon Ehirim who hails from Achara community in Umuaka established the De Lemon Groove Hotel in his community and thereby creating development and employment for the youths.
(4). INFLUENTUAL POET OF THE YEAR AWARD 2024.
WINNER: Mr Joe Blaize Nnaemeka Akanazu.
JUSTIFICATIONS: Soul and Spirit Poetry of the Heart is a collection of poems written by Mr Joe Blaize Nnaemeka Akanazu, a German based Akalite. The book is used in secondary schools across Nigeria.
(5). Footballer of the Year Chiamaka Cristabel Okwuchukwu.
For having successfully represented Nigeria in female football world cup tournaments. Umuaka Times is happy to announce Miss Chiamaka Cristabel Okwuchukwu as her Footballer of the Year Award winner 2024.
