After the successful and hitch-free burial of the erudite professor and the first law graduate in Umuaka, which took place on Friday November 6, 2020, guests had gathered at Unity Primary School Obinwanne where over 60 canopies had been prepared for them who came from in and outside Nigeria to pay their last respect to the senior lawyer, the MC of the event Hon Louis Duru was busy announcing to the guests the events lined up for their entertainment. He was also recognizing top personalities both from the private and public sectors who had come to grace the occasion as well.

Several musicians including cultural dance troupes and the popular Udo Mariam Group from Akwa Ibom State were all there including some Nollywood stars. The sun was at its peak and some guests had already started to complain about the harsh effects of the sun. One guy who was hawking handkerchief was busy doing his business as many of the guests were patronizing him and then came the surprise. A heavy rain suddenly started to fall. The rain sent many people away from the compound while many more people who were sitting under the canopies had a good cover. It was as if the organizers of the event knew it was going to rain on that particular day, hence they provided good canopies.

The rain which heavily rained for about 20 minutes or more, created some form of arguments among the guests. Some blamed the burial committee for not engaging the services of rain stoppers who had out of annoyance, sent the rain to disrupt the event, while others argued that no matter how much money you may give to rain stoppers, they would still not do their job because they are greedy people.

There was also another group of persons who claimed that the sudden rainfall was a manifestation that Heave was at peace with the soul of the departed and used the rain to cool the harsh effects of the sun on the guests.

Although the rain was heavy but it never disrupted the event because after the rainfall, everybody went back to business and the reception continued as many more guests kept coming.
