Imo State based radio journalist and social media influencer Mr Theodore Chinonso Uba popularly known as Nonso Nkwa has issued a fresh travel advisory to Imolites where he exposed some new tactics kidnappers and organ harvesters in the state use to trap their victims and eventually kill them. In a Facebook broadcast released recently by the social media influencer, Nonso Nkwa started the broadcast by strictly warning passengers especially those coming from Onitsha Anambra State to Imo State using the Onitsha Owerri Express Road. The influencer warned travellers never to allow any driver to stop in Mgbidi or Ihiala with whatever excuse and hand them over to another waiting bus to continue the trip to Imo State. He strongly warned Imolites never to accept such conditions while on their trip because according to him, the driver they may hand over the passengers to, may not be a good fellow but a member of a criminal gang who specialized in kidnapping travellers on the express road.
The famous Imo prominent journalist and human rights activist went on to play a voice note where a voice claimed that a pastor who escaped from the dragnet of the kidnappers from a bush in the state narrated his sad experience.
According to the voice note, 4 persons were shot dead in a bush as they had no money after being kidnapped. The moment they were shot, buyers of human parts were already waiting to buy their bodies. The voice also claimed that their tormentors were Fulani terrorists. It further explained that the kidnap victims were taken to a camp where not less than 300 captives were held and further explained that the incident took place along Onitsha Owerri Express Road in Imo State.
In further explanations, the voice also said that the next day, other captives were brought to the camp. Nonsonkwa repeatedly warned that Onitsha Owerri Road is a very dangerous road to travellers and warned families to inform their loved ones.
Another warning the social media influencer talked about was his designation of areas like Oforola, Obinze, Ihiagwa, Avu, Obosima, Nekede, Amakohiaubi, Irete as where Fulani terrorists have frequently caused mayhem to travellers.
Umuaka Times findings showed that the state has recorded a number of missing persons in the recent time. Ndukwu Munachimso Destiny from Isuobishi, Isu LGA in the State was declared missing after being seen last on 15th February 2025. The family appealed to the general public to come to their rescue.
