The people of Ibele Autonomous Community Njaba LGA will on Saturday December 27, 2025 play host to friends, well-wishers, in-laws and many other personalities both resident in Nigeria and outside, as Chief Cyril N. Obioha, a top community leader will be laid to rest.
In a press statement issued by the first son of the nonagenarian, Prince Emeka Obioha, the burial ceremony to mark the exit of his father and the 91 year old sage and patriotic Akalite will commence on Friday December 26, 2025 with a Christian wakes night and service of songs at his ancestral compound in Okwudor Ibele. On Saturday being December 27 2025, the remains of the late Chief Cyril Obioha will leave the mortuary in a motorcade to Okwudor Ibele where family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their last respect to the deceased. This exercise will last from 8 am to 9:45 am when the motorcade will move to St Peter’s Anglican Church Ibele for a requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
By 12 mid-day, interment will follow immediately in his compound in Okwudor Ibele.
A church service has also been fixed on Sunday 28 December 2025 at St Peter’s Anglican Church Oru Ibele by the family.
Chief Cyril Obioha during his lifetime held multiple chieftaincy titles including Ezekweshiri 1, Agunechemba 1 and a host of others.
The first son of the late Chief Obioha, Prince Emeka Obioha, and the Ozor Dike 1 has called on friends and well-wishers from far and wide to identify with the family as the burial ceremonies hold.
