Umuezeala women close August meeting 2025 edition with funfair.

The 2025 edition of August Meeting celebration of Umuezeala Uba Umuaka Development Union (women’s wing) was held on Monday August 25 2025 at the famous Obi Nwakaodu located in Umuisii Umuezeala Uba.  The yearly event which used to come with several activities and side attractions usually attracts notable personalities in and outside Umuezeala Uba anytime it is held. The 2025 edition was not different from what the women used to organize in the previous years but the only difference was that this year’s edition was better than the previous editions. Many who came for the event testified this to Umuaka Times reporters.

The event kicked off with a high Mass celebrated by one of the Catholic priests in Umuaka, Rev. Father Ijerekwe who was officially invited for the event to conduct the Mass and bless the day’s event. During the gospel time, the priest outlined the virtues of a Christian mother and charged the women to always stand on the truth as Christian mothers. He challenged them to change the status quo and be the shining examples the world needs.

At the end of the Mass, the women thanked the priest and presented special gifts to him in appreciation of the service. The women who were led by Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Dike, the president-general of Umuezeala Uba Umuaka Development Union (women’s wing) thanked the priest in a special way and prayed to God to continue to protect him in his evangelical mission in Umuaka.

Minutes later, the event then took a new dimension; the Umuezeala women groups from three blocs of Umuezeala Ubamade up of Umuagba, Umulolo and Umuisii women participated in the march-past. The march-past was one of the greatest events of the day where young and agile women of Umuezeala took part in the exercise. The women dressed in three special uniforms with white socks and white hand gloves that gave them the elegance they all expected.

Prominent among those who were present during the event was the councilor representing Umuaka Ward 1 in Njaba LGA MrsChinyereIkwu who was a guest speaker during the event. Mrs Ikwu presented a lecture titled the Virtuous Woman. During the lecture, she extolled the virtues of the Umuezeala women for their resilience and encouraged them to explore more avenues and frontiers of success in all ramifications. She also made a donation to the women before she left the event.

Another guest speaker who presented a lecture during the event was a former president-general of Umuezeala women, Mrs Chioma Duruojiaku. Mrs Duruojiaku who spoke on the role of women towards modeling the youths is a native of Umulolo in Umuezeala. In her lecture, she outlined the roles women in a society like Umuezeala Uba and enjoined the women to take charge.

By the time Mrs Duruojiaku was done with her presentation came another segment of the event which is called “iteomumu”. The year 2025 was the turn of Umulolo women to unanimously present the “iteomumu” for the people. (“iteomumu” is a pot that contains a lot of edible items symbolizing successful childbirths etc). The atmosphere of the arena automatically became electrified the moment Umulolo women brought the “iteomumu” at the high table. They unveiled the “iteomumu” with the sum of N10,000. One after the other, all the Umuezeala women came and picked an item from the “iteomumu” and made some donations each.

The star event of the day was probably the presentation and launching of the printed edition of Umuezeala women’s constitution. There were two chief launchers in the persons of Dr Lolo Joy Ikeme who launched the document with the sum of N200K and Mrs Chidinma Dike Okegbe who launched the document with the sum of N100K. Many Umuezeala men and women who were both present and absent during the epoch-making event took part in launching the constitution as most of them made several donations in support of the project.

The Umuezeala men who were present during the event were so thrilled to the extent that each of them spoke and encouraged their women to continue showing love and unity among themselves. They sincerely expressed their happiness over the diversity in unity displayed by their wives. They also contributed some amount of money to display their support and endorsement of the excellence the women have so far recorded over the years with regards to August Meeting celebrations.

Another item in the program of the day that caught the attention of the women and their guests was a thrilling drama the women presented. The drama lasted for long and those who had the patience to watch and listen confirmed that they learnt a lot from the drama.

The success of the August Meeting celebration of Umuezeala Uba Umuaka 2025 edition will in no way be over-emphasized or over reported. The women put up their best activities respectively and collectively; their participations in all the events were amazing. Those who could not take part due to old age or any form of ailment sat down and cheered their fellow women with fun and pageantry to the amazement of all the guests. At the end of the event, every woman had enough reason not only to thank God but to feel happy that every segment of the event was deeply successful.
