Chris Nwachukwu and wife Annette set to donate $100,000 to Umuaka if…

Uba Umuaka born fabled philanthropist, community integration advocate and the chief consultant of Nwachukwu Law Offices in Atlanta, Georgia USA, Dr. Chris Nwachukwu has alongside with his wife Annette Ijeoma Nwachukwu made a promise to donate a whopping sum of $100,000 (about N155, 000,000.00) to Umuaka for the rebuilding of Umuaka Community Hospital, UCH. Dr. Nwachukwu disclosed this in the United States during the 2025 edition of Umuaka National Convention in America which was held last month.

While speaking with the special correspondents of Umuaka Times in the United States last week in an exclusive encounter, Dr. Nwachukwu while speaking on behalf of his wife further disclosed their preparedness to sign the check for the $100,000 as soon as possible under some conditions he expects from the community. The first condition he gave was for the Amiyi Autonomous Community to remove the signpost at the hospital written Amiyi Akah Community Hospital and change it to Umuaka Community Hospital and do the needful in conjunction with other communities in Umuaka.

In his words, Dr Nwachukwu appealed thus: “I also want to encourage the whole 10 communities in Umuaka to come together to build the hospital as no single community can build a standard hospital. Building and equipping a standard hospital will cost about 2 million dollars.”

The second condition given by the couple came as a form of an appeal to every other community in Umuaka. It can be recalled that during the 2025 Umuaka National Convention held last month in America, it was agreed that for easy identification, each autonomous community in Umuaka should revert to the use of “Umuaka” in their names instead of the word “Akah”. If this particular condition is met, every other community in Umuaka will then be officially known with her autonomous name and the general name as well.

Further reiterating on the name change condition, Dr Nwachukwu reaffirmed his promise thus: “We will donate the money if at least 3 other communities append Umuaka in their names apart from Uba and Obinwanne that are currently officially identified as Umuaka.”

From what Umuaka Times gathered last month, several Akalites who were present during the 2025 Umuaka Convention hailed the spirit of genuine philanthropy Dr Nwachukwu has always demonstrated in the community. It can also be recalled that sometime ago in Dallas Texas in 1997; Dr Nwachukwu donated $1000 during the hosting of Umuaka National Convention. When he announced the donation, the people in returned applauded the philanthropic gesture of the man known as Omeiheukwu.

While preaching his gospel of peace and harmony in Umuaka, Dr Nwachukwu wondered why some high profile and educated Akalites who live overseas would always like to be identified as the sons and daughters of Umuaka overseas and while at home, they will preach and demonstrate the opposite.

As an attorney with 30 years of experience in various cases in the United States, Nwachukwu told Umuaka Times reporters that it would not cost anything unusual or difficult to effect the name change for Umuaka Ebe Iri to insert the name “Umuaka” in their official names.
