Chief Festus Ikechukwu Esomonu dies at 65. Burial date fixed.

The Esomonu family of Durunnaji in Odoshiwe village Amiyi Akah Autonomous Community has announced the sudden demise of Chief Festus Ikechukwu Esomonu. In a report filed by Umuaka Times correspondents in the United States, Chief Victor Esomonu disclosed that his elder brother Chief Festus Ikechukwu Esomonu who holds the title of Eziah aKa Aku the second, died at the age of 65 on his birthday which was Sunday September 7th 2025.

A committee of friends’ whatsapp group has been set up to facilitate the burial arrangements of the highly respected Amiyi Akah chieftaincy title holder. Already, the burial date of the late Chief Festus Ikechukwu Esomonu has been fixed to hold on Friday January 9 2026 in his home town of Amiyi Akah.
The late Ikechukwu was survived by his wife, children, brothers and a sister.
Umuaka Times gathered that during the lifetime of the deceased, he was a strong member of the Pentecostal church movement in Nigeria and he was also a strong community leader and a member of Amiyi Akah Council of Chiefs.
More details on the burial program of the late Chief will be communicated by Umuaka Times as soon as they are made available.
