The newly established Gateway College of Nursing Sciences has opened admissions for her 2025 and 2026 academic sessions. Being an institution owned and run by a Christian faith based organization, (Gateway International Church), the school is fee is moderate which is in line with the tradition of the corporate social responsibility of the church.

Pastor George Izunwa, the Lead Pastor Gateway International Church, told Umuaka Times that the school is built on integrity and a moderate, faith‑based ethos that compatible with the church’s longstanding corporate social responsibility tradition. “We’re not just teaching nursing; we’re nurturing compassionate leaders, ”He said during the brief interview.

The amiable man of God further disclosed to reporters thus; “To wear the Gateway badge, you need solid grades—credit in Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology—and a JAMB/UTME score of 140 or higher. The minimum age requirement is 17, and the college only offers Nursing and Midwifery programs.”

Highly dependable Gateway sources told Umuaka Times that the college, apart from using the facilities at the Bethesda Mission Hospital, a health subsidiary of Gateway International Church for their daily practical assignments, the school is also affiliated with University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital for training and more intense practical assignments which will produce a blend of bedside care and academic rigors that’s hard to beat.

When the news of the ongoing admissions broke last week, the streets of South South and Southeast zones of Nigeria buzzed with excitement. Mr Charles, a proud Port Harcourt resident from Imo State, summed it up: “I have confidence Gateway will make a huge impact. With its skilled staff and international connections, the sky will surely be the limit for these future nurses.” Parents are already lining up, eager to enroll their children in a program that promises both excellence and purpose.
