Lighthouse FM to hit the airwaves on December 1. Pastor George Izunwa.

The founder of Port Harcourt based Lighthouse FM; Pastor George Izunwa has disclosed to newsmen that Lighthouse 93.5 FM will fully hit the airwaves on December 1, 2025. While holding talks with Umuaka Times in an exclusive interview, Pastor George Izunwa who is the Lead Pastor, Gateway International Church admitted to reporters that Lighthouse FM which is also known as the heartbeat of the people has been on test-running activities for some weeks now. He went further and promised the people of Southeast and South South zones that Lighthouse FM will be able to carry them along effectively with 24 hours of broadcasting services.

On the listing by the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission NBC, it is expected that the NBC will list and officially recognize Lighthouse FM 93.5 in the first week of January 2026.

Lighthouse FM will engage her listening audience with the following programs and activities Information dissemination: Broadcasting news, updates, and announcements to the public.

Education: The FM station will be providing educational content, promoting literacy, and awareness on various issues.

Entertainment: For music lovers, Lighthouse FM has already employed skilled radio DJs whose duties include playing music, hosting talk shows, and airing local and international content.

Community engagement: Addressing local issues, promoting culture, and fostering community developmentare another vital area the FM station will take seriously.

Economic empowerment:  promotion of local businesses as well as religious programs, advertising and more will find prominence at Lighthouse FM.

“Crisis communication”: Providing critical information during emergencies and natural disasters and more will also be another area the station has considered vital.
