Klubb88, the 1988 Old Boys Association of High School Umuaka, stormed the OkparakuN’ Okparaji family compound in Umuduruorji AcharajiAkah, Umuaka, Imo State, on Friday, November 28, 2025, to pay a heartfelt condolence visit to Ambassador Donald Anokwute, a South African-based businessman and member of the organization. The visit came just hours after the burial of Ambassador Anokwute’s mother, Mrs. Lucy Akubanihe Anokwute (Nee Nsorom), a woman of remarkable generosity, as recalled by friends and family.

Earlier that day, a requiem Mass at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, AcharajiAkah, Njaba LGA, Imo State, had drawn mourners from across Nigeria and beyond, celebrating the life of a matriarch who touched many. As the old boys arrived at the family compound, Ambassador Anokwute, visibly emotional yet grateful, broke into a warm smile, overwhelmed by the show of solidarity from his former classmates and welcomed them. “Thank you, thank you, my brothers,” he said, his voice lowing with appreciation, praying aloud for God’s continued guidance and protection over the Klubb88 members.
The club in turn, took a poignant group picture with Ambassador Anokwute, their gesture a quiet reminder of bonds forged in the classrooms of Umuaka High School some decades ago. “Bear with us, Donny,” one of them whispered, appealing for him to find strength in their shared memories.

Among those who joined the condolence visit were community leaders and friends: Chief Madueke Iwuchukwu, Chief Mike Amuzie, Chief IkemefuleNwosu, John Ukachukwu, Ken Onyenwuzor, Greg Ejikeme, Chidi Mbadiwe, Charles Ononiwu, Emma Nwokem, Callistus Uche, Jonathan Metu, and Bonaventure Egwuogu. Together, they consoled Ambassador Anokwute, a man whose grief was softened by the weight of brotherhood shown by Klubb88.
The club’s visit underscored the enduring ties of High School Umuaka, a place where memories linger long after graduation.
