The family of late Hon. Nathaniel Chinyere Nnadika, fondly called “ABONKRY MAN”, has announced the passing of the elder statesman at the age of 84. This iformation was contained in an announcement signed by his son, Nnadika Nnamdi, on behalf of the family. According to the announcement, they stated that the late Hon. Nnadika passed with “total submission to the will of God Almighty” and is survived by children, grandchildren, and extended family members.
According to the burial arrangements released by the family, funeral activities will take place in Nkwerre LGA, Imo State as follows: Thursday, 26th November 2026 by 7:00pm a Christian wakes night and service of songs will hold in his compound in Duruamara, Umuaro Autonomous Community, Nkwerre LGA.
On Friday, 27th November 2026 by 7:00am, the remains of the elder statesman will leave the mortuary for a brief stopover at his maternal home in Umuduruimo, Umudi, Nkwerre LGA. By 8:00am, the reception of the body by the family while by 9:00am lying-in-State at his compound. By 10:00am, a funeral service by Deeper Life Bible Church Umuaro at the school field opposite St. James Anglican Church, Umudi. Interment follows immediately by 12:00 noon after service at his compound in Duruamara.
During the burial, Umuaka Times gathered, many people including VIPs in the state, politicians, businessmen, royal fathers and many others will come across the country to pay their last respect to a man who contributed his quota to the development of his town and beyond.
The family used the opportunity and called on friends, associates, and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the life of the late community leader. “May his gentle soul rest in the bosom of the Almighty God,” the statement concluded.
