Family and friends gather as Mrs Lolo Nneoma Anastasia Iheme is laid to rest.
2 min readLast week, precisely on Thursday December 10 2020, the remains of Lolo Nneoma Umereaku Anastasia Iheme was laid to rest to mother after she spend 80 years of fruitful and eventful years on earth. The event took place at the Iheme ancestral (country) home in Isiozi Umuaka town.
After a brief lying in state at the Iheme country home, the limousine ambulance conveying the casket of the woman took her straight to the St Joseph’s Catholic Church Isiozi Umuaka where a requiem Mass was celebrated in her honour and for the repose of her soul.
The officiating priest Rev Father Wisdom Ibegbe took time to talk about life, death and the type of life lived by Lolo Nneoma Umereaku Anastasia Iheme.
The priest prayed to God to accept the soul of Mrs Iheme in Heaven and never allow her to face the second death. By the end of the church service, Chief Emma Iheme was called out by the priest to give a vote of thanks. Chief Iheme who goes by the title Akuchinyere 1 used the opportunity to thank the priest, the church members, family and friends and others too numerous to mention for coming to pay their mother the last respect. He asked God to protect and guide everyone who attended the event.
Shortly after this presentation by Chief Iheme, the church service came to a close and all the people again moved to the Iheme ancestral home for the final passage rites of Lolo Nneoma Umereaku Anastasia Iheme.
As usual, Catholics gathered by the graveside to perform the burial rites. The officiating priest who was also accompanied by other priests conducted the graveside service and the undertakers laid her to rest.
May the soul of Lolo Nneoma Umereaku Anastasia Iheme rest in perfect peace.
