Niger Delta Innovative Institute holds convocation.
2 min readSaturday 20 March 2021was a great day in Umuaka. The great institution, Niger Delta Innovative Institute NDII, Umuaka campus, held its convocation and matriculation ceremony. The event which was attended by many students and other guests provided an ample opportunity for the institute to market its academic programs to the guests. The event which started by 12:30 pm at the premises of Umuaka Community Hospital gathered momentum the moment the students arrived at the arena in a highly electrifying procession. The students and guests immediately took the national anthem which was followed by the school anthem. Then came Dr Okpara on the microphone who said the opening prayer and everybody got seated.
The rector of the institute Dr Dike Anozie, mounted the podium and declared open the 7th convocation and the 9th matriculation ceremony of the famous Niger Delta Innovative Institute. This was followed by a big round of applause by the students and guests.
After the introduction of the academic and non- academic staff members of the institution, the name of Dr Charles Chinekezi was announced by the master of the ceremony for him to present the welcome address by the institute. At the end of his address, the next item on the program was the presentation of awards to some distinguished citizens of the state. The list of awardees includes, Pastor Nicodemus Nwokeoma, Dr B.U Ohakam (Omereoha), Mr Chris Williams Onugha, High Chief Celestine Ndubisi Agu and Comrade IG Sule Ezinwoke (JP). Each of the awardees received an award as a Fellow of the institute.
After the presentation of the awards to the awardees, the students were then led to an oath by the school authorities. Dr Dike Anozie reminded them to always be good citizens of the Nigerian state and role models for the entire soceity.
