A Carnival-like burial for Lolo Anastasia Iheme.
2 min readThe burial of Lolo Nneoma Umereaku Anastasia Iheme has come and gone but the echoes are still on. Despite the fact that prominent personalities attended the burial, there was also a heavy presence of soldiers, policemen and other security outfits who made sure that there would be no issue of security breaches during the burial ceremonies.
An Umuaka Times reporter who visited and monitored the entire ceremony described it as a sort of carnival. There were several live bands, traditional dances, independent dancers and entertainers and a standby DJ at the event. Ace comedian Chief Imo who was the Master of Ceremonies used the opportunity to showcase his vocal skills when he took the microphone and rendered some songs. At the event was another great Imo son, Sunny Bobo, a youthful Bongo Highlife musician. Sunny Bobo was at his best when he mounted the stage and sang his popular tunes. His performance was so electrifying to the extent that Gen Obi and his wife went to the stage to show their dance skills as well.
Several members of women and men’s groups were spotted at the event with their different attires. There were also some Christian groups like Christian Fathers’ Association and Catholic Women Organization. Student groups were not left out as an Old Boys’ Association of High School Umuaka of 1992 set was also conspicuously preset at the event.
The heavy presence of family and friends, clubs and Christian bodies and more really testified that the woman, Lolo Nneoma Umereaku Anastasia Iheme was indeed an enigmatic woman of substance.
