A Tribute to My Loving Brother. By Chief Chris Anyaibe.
2 min readΟh Prince, where are you? Where do we begin to search? Where do we begin to mourn the unmournable? Where do we begin to grieve for the ungrieveable?
Death how sharp are thy fangs? Death how merciless are thy judgment? You have dipped your claws into the garden of life and plucked the golden apple! I distinctly remember the last time we the Emmanuel Boys sat down to discuss our Niece wedding and the plans we made on how to honor her.
How was I to know that in a few weeks our world will be turned upside down with the terrible and shocking news of your passing.
Adieu my beloved Brother, Chief Prince Jude Chidi Anyaibe, Ochasi Nnanyereugo I of Umuaka Ancient Kingdom. Your passing has left a big hole in the fabric of our reality. The plans uncompleted, the dreams unfulfilled.
Your dynamic and loving nature will be greatly missed. My children speak of their loving Uncle who took them everywhere and showed them love equal to their fathers. Stories from cousins whom you took under your wing and protected during your primary school days abound aplenty.
You have been a great sounding board to me and your pieces of advice have been immeasurable in their effectiveness. I remember your graduation from the University of the District of Columbia, Washington DC and how proud and momentous the occasion was because you were the third Anyaibe to graduate from that distinguished school of great Learning.
Anecdotes of our growing up about plenty, but time has deemed memories and I do not want to run into the danger of mixing up incidents. What I do know is that your passing is a big blow to the family, but we must thank the Almighty Lord for allowing us and granting us the gift of enjoying your life and being part of it. You are a beloved son, brother husband, father, uncle, and friends to multitude. You will be deeply missed but your memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved you. May you rest in eternal perfect peace in Jesus Name, Amen.
The Good Book says if the good comes give glory to the Almighty God and if the bad happens, given Him glory too.
We thank Him for His gift of you to the world and now that He has called you home, we commend your spirit into His Loving Care for eternal peaceful rest, In Jesus Name, Amen Adieu dear Brother. Rest in Peace until we meet again.
Chief Sir Christopher Chukwunonyelu Anyaibe, NnaNyere Ugo II of Umuaka Ancient Kingdom. (Elder Brother).
