Again, Umuele in Diaspora share palliatives at home.
2 min readIt was yet another day of charity and palliatives for the needy in Umuele Amazano as the children of the community at home were once again presented with food items as one of the measures that have regularly been put into action by the children of the community overseas.
In his opening speech at the food presentation ceremony which was held last week at the community’s town hall, the royal father of the community HRH Eze Caesar Duruegbusuo, told the community leaders who came to take home the items that it was their sons who live in Canada and USA that presented the food items for them.
The group which is known as Umuele Amazano Development Union USA/Canada and led by Chief Dr Ikenna Fortune Duru, presented for outright distribution, 52 bags of rice, 37 bags of beans and 120 cartons of noodles. The donations according to the royal father, were the contribution the members of the organization made to support their people at home to fight the Covid19 hunger.
The HRH who was full of joy and appreciation enjoined his people to always remember these American and Canadian based children of the community in their daily prayers.
Chief Ikemefula Nwosu, the president general of the community who was also filled with joy at the event confirmed to Umuaka Times that their children overseas have always been supportive since the advent of Covid19. Others who spoke with Umuaka Times at the event include, Mr Augustine Anusionwu, Mrs Gertrude Onongaya, Mrs Comfort Ihekanwa, Chief Godson Aghaulo and Comrade Amuche Akubuiro. They all expressed their individual happiness over this unique culture of care by their people in Diaspora and asked God to continue to protect them and their families.
