Akalite wins beauty pageant in Delta State.
2 min readAn Uba born Akalite Miss Duru Esther Chidera has been crowned Miss Sheen Nigeria 2020 in far away capital city of Delta State, Asaba. The event which was organized by Epany Entertainment saw the beautiful 20 year old beauty queen beat other 19 contestants to emerge as the winner of the fourth edition of the famous and prestigious Miss Sheen Nigeria 2020.
In a brief interview with Umuaka Times, the new beauty queen who is a student of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Lagos State Polytechnics told Umuaka Times that she emerged as the beauty queen in a highly competitive beauty contest which was held on December 8, 2020 at Vienna International Hotel, Asaba, Delta State. She thanked all those who stood by her during this period and the judges who saw clearly in their judgment.
After her victory, the star prize of N600,000 was made available to her by the organizing body. Umuaka Times gathered that the star prize was sponsored by Ontisha Market and Season 4 Clothing.
There are indications that considering the quick rise to stardom by the new beauty queen, either sooner or later, corporate bodies will seek her endorsement to their businesses and products.
The new queen had since concluded her pet project which was a youth empowerment program. The program was held in Paris Heritage Hotel , Owerri, Imo State on the 26th and 27th of April, 2021. After the success of the empowerment program in Owerri, the team went to Golden Land Hotel Asaba where the project was successfully repeated.
The project according to the new beauty queen, “is aimed at empowering youths to learn different skills of their choice. We had wig making ,nail art , skin care , perfume and detergent production. We also gave each participant a financial starter pack to enable them continue with the skills they learnt. The project was sponsored by Still Arise Foundation.
On her feelings after being declared as the beauty queen, “I felt that every girl competing in the pageant put in a lot of efforts. So I had lots of competitors, I felt great and so proud of myself when I was announced the winner.”
