The remains of Umuezeala Uba born ace Igbo language football commentator, DJ and a renowned MC, the late Mazi Ifeanyichukwu Albert Duru popularly known as Alibros will be committed to mother earth on Thursday December 18, 2025. This information was contained in a press statement the family made available to Umuaka Times which was issued and signed by Mr Ugonna Lambert Duru, the first son of the deceased. According to the press statement, the wake-keep and service of songs in honor of the deceased will be held in the compound of Nze Duruekweihein Umuishii, Umuezeala, Uba Umuaka on Wednesday 17 December 2025 from 7 pm till.

On Thursday 18 December 2025, the remains of Mazi Alibros Duru will leave the mortuary of Umuaka Community Hospital to his compound in Umuezeala Uba. There will be a lying in state session where family, friends and well-wishers will have the opportunity to pay their last respect to the deceased. This segment of the burial program will last for two hours.

By 10 am on the same day, a requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Mary’s Catholic Church Umuaka for the repose of the soul of the deceased. The requiem Mass will last till 11 am in order to pave way for the interment of the deceased by 12 midday in his compound also in Umuezeala Uba.
Reception of guests, family and friends will kick off by 1 pm in the compound.
Mazi Alibros is survived by his wife, children, brothers, sisters and a host of others. During his lifetime, Alibros was a devoted Christian of Roman Catholic faith and a member of several organizations in Umuaka. He died at the age 72.
