Two highly talented and prominent Umuaka born abu oghu singers, Alili Nkwu from Uba and Akika from Ugbele yesterday engaged each other in abu oghu show during the Oghu Okwuoma London which was held in Eke Ibele Central Stadium.
From the observations of Umuaka Times reporters who witnessed the event, Alili Nkwu was first to arrive at the oghu ceremony even before the event kicked off. For his early arrival, he took time to relax at the nearby Greenland Hotel where he met some Akalites who had also come for the event. The Akalites successfully engaged him in abu oghu show which was captured on video. When the abu oghu singing spirit engulfed Alili Nkwu, he took time to thrill them which lasted for a very long time before they all finally took off for the event when it was time.
At the oghu dance arena, Alili Nkwu had prime time doing what he knows how to do best and the audience was totally thrilled. Like half way into the dance, a middle aged young commercial motorcycle operator known as inaga or okada in the local parlance pulled through at the stadium and another great abu oghu singer known as Akika alighted from the motorcycle. When Alili Nkwu saw him, he smiled and adjusted himself on the seat and waited for Akika to fully hit the arena.
The master of the ceremony, who had since cited Akika from the time he alighted from the okada, then announced to the audience about the dramatic arrival of Mazi Akika. In few minutes time, Akika was in the arena and Alili Nkwu stood up to welcome him. After a friendly handshake, both men were given a separate microphone each to thrill the audience. For over 10 minutes, the top abu oghu singers held everyone spell bound with their abu oghu singing talents.
