An Obinwanne woman simply referred to as Mrs Chidimma Nnadozie has been languishing at FMC Owerri over the sum of N2.5 million medical bills she has incurred after undergoing double major surgeries.

Mrs Chidimma Nnadozie took ill close to a year ago following irregularities doctors discovered in her intestines. According to the findings Umuaka Times reporters made when they visited Nnadozie at FMC Owerri, it was impossible for her to pass stool normally. As a result of that, a pipe was connected to her system for possible passage of stool. It was this problem that the doctors worked on through corrective surgeries.

Before being admitted in FMC Owerri, Mrs Chidimma Nnadozie had spent a couple of months in a popular hospital in Umuowa where over one million Naira was spent on her condition. Shortly before press time last week, words came to Umuaka Times that after the reporters had paid an official visit at the hospital to observe her condition, she was again wheeled to the theater for another highly demanding surgery.

Umuaka Times was reliably informed that Mrs Chidimma Nnadozie has been responding to post surgery treatments. The issue facing her right away is the whopping bill of N2.5 million FMC has placed on her head. The money is nowhere to be found!

The day Umuaka Times paid her a visit, she could barely talk as she was totally very weak and was undergoing strong pains too. She managed to appeal to Umuaka Times to help her through some public spirited individuals over the hospital bills.

Mrs Chidimma Nnadozie’s husband was said to have sold his only plot of land in order to save the life of his wife. All the surgeries performed on her were successful but at a very heavy cost the family cannot afford as presently constituted. Now they are calling for help from anybody or groups willing to assist in raising the N2.5million. Donations can be made through Umuaka Times.
