Austin Agbahiwe Jr breaks record, graduates with several awards.

An Akalite who graduated from the highly prestigious Afe Babalola University has set and broken some unique records at the institution. Dr Austin Chidera Agbahiwe Jr who hails from Ibele Autonomous Community made Ndi Igbo, Ndi Imo and Ndi Umuaka proud over his academic performance and distinction over the years as a medical student.

When Umuaka Times called on Dr Agbahiwe Jr over the weekend on the development, the young medical graduate who became a doctor at the age of 23 disclosed that he won several awards at Afe Babalola University. The awards according to what Umuaka Times gathered, distinguished him from other students as an academic super brat.

The award which elevated the status of Dr Austin Agbahiwe Jr. as a student are as follows; Founder’s Award for First Class in First Year Examinations (2015). Winner, Nigeria Medical Association Ekiti State Branch Intercollegiate Quiz Competition,(October 2016). Winner, Nigeria Medical Association and Nigeria Medical Students Association South-West/Lagos Zone Medical Quiz Competition, (September, 2017). Winner, Emeritus Professor Matthew Akinyemi Araoye Memorial Inter-Collegiate Quiz Competition, (December 2018). Second Place, Emeritus Professor Matthew Akinyemi Araoye Memorial Inter-Collegiate Quiz Competition, (December 2019). Second Place, Emeritus Professor Matthew Akinyemi Araoye Memorial Inter-Collegiate Quiz Competition, (December 2020).

Dr Austin Agbahiwe Jr also won Albert Einstein of the Year Award (Amsa 2021.) This award which exclusively given to a student with the highest CGPA in his class and college. As if all these were not enough, Agbahiwe Jr. equally was the Quiz Chairman of his school.

While discussing with Umuaka Times, Agbahiwe confirmed that he was very happy over the influx of the awards over the years but the ones that really made an inroad into his heart more than others were the Albert Einstein of the Year Award and the Quiz Chairman of his college. “I was the youngest Quiz Chairman and the first person to win the Albert Einstein Award of the Year twice.

While thanking God and his family for the awards and academic training he had, Agbahiwe used the opportunity and called upon parents to always be supportive of their children in their chosen careers.
