2 min readUS based Akalite, businessman and philanthropist; Mr Benji Iheme again held an empowerment and interactive session with Ibele youths in his country home in Ibele Autonomous Community some days ago. The youths who were treated with a lot of dignity, food and drinks numbered up to 40 and each of them was fulfilled over the discussions that took place during the program.
From Umuaka Times findings, Mr Iheme has been holding such programs for the Ibele youths over the years where he personally identifies with them and tries to find out their challenges and offer solutions.
Speaking with Umuaka Times on telephone shortly after the event, the Chief Executive Officer of the famous Richland Market Grocery Dallas, Texas USA, disclosed that he has been holding the outreach for the last couple of years for the Ibele youths. According to him, the aim of the outreach is to empower the youths with the tools needed to face the challenges of life and modern realities. He confirmed to Umuaka Times that he has often warned the youths in the community to desist from anything that has to do with drugs, international scam properly referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo” and other juvenile delinquencies.
Speaking further, Mr Iheme also told Umuaka Times that he has also charged those of them who are jobless to find something doing and reach out to him on the areas they would require his inputs. He also has spent a big chunk of his personal fortune in setting up businesses, via the provision of soft loans to low income earners in the community.
Umuaka Times gathered from Mr Iheme that he always feels fulfilled anytime he holds the yearly program with the youths of his community. Hear him; “You know they are young and need both our direction and leadership roles in order to face the challenges of tomorrow successfully. There is an urgent need for a clear mentorship.”
In his closing remarks, Iheme thanked the youths who left all their personal engagements and attended the program. He advised them to remain steadfast in their personal pursuit for fame, wealth and education, “but don’t forget, always keep your hands straight and don’t offend the wrong persons.”
