Friday March 28, 2025 was a great day in the United States of America. On this special day, the chosen venue for the special event was the prestigious Gerland Convention Event Center Gerland, Texas USA. Akalites and some other personalities both from Nigeria and in the United States had flown in for the epoch-making event. Trust Akalites in diaspora, they will always gather together to celebrate one of them anytime success is achieved. On face value, one would assume that the event was a sort of Umuaka National Convention judging by the presence of high profile personalities from several local extractions (autonomous communities) of Umuaka Ebe Iri, but it was not all that.
The event was indeed a celebration of rare and highly exclusive academic excellence by a mother and her two children. According to the fillers gathered by the United States correspondents of Umuaka Times, Lolo Stella Oluchi Iheme and her two children Tobechi Iheme and Engineer Bekonna Iheme celebrated their graduation party after obtaining their MBA respectively from respective universities.
Lolo Stella Oluchi Iheme, the wife of High Chief Benji Iheme (the Deway Icon) and the Oputa Obie 1 of Ibele Autonomous Community showed the world that they have successfully obtained their MBAs in their chosen careers. It was not just a celebration but also a means of showing to the younger Akalites at home that hard work really pays better than yahoo-yahoo.

A document Umuaka Times obtained few days after the event shows thus: Lolo Stella Oluchi Iheme graduated from the WGN University with an MBA. Engineer Tobechi Iheme, University of North Texas (UNT) MBA and Engineer Bekonna Iheme University of North Texas (UNT) MBA.
The joy was indeed something worthy of celebration and to celebrate the Ihemes did. Families, colleagues and friends all gathered to mark the exclusive event which was the first time such an event was happening in any Umuaka family both at home and abroad in Umuaka.
As guests arrived, they were greeted by the warm smiles of the Deway Icon himself, High Chief Benji Iheme, children and wife, who were beaming with pride. The venue of the event was lavishly decorated with balloons, streamers and the DJ was constantly blasting Nigerian songs to the audience who danced and had real fun. The graduates names and photos formed a red carpet of some sort where guests went to take some selfies and group photographs.
Those who attended the event include HRH Eze Caesar Ugochukwu Duruegbusuo, the Ozoanuo of Amazano Umuele, Chief Chris Anyaibe, Dr Emeka Nwokedi, Chief (Attorney) Emeka Odueze Nwakaibeya 1, Dr. Simon Iberosi, Dr. Gertty Anyanwoke, Dr Marshall Madu, Chief Albert Okunwa (Ugobuzuo 1), Lokos Iherobiem, Chief Nnamdi Okoro and his son Chinedu, High Chief Eddie Nwokedi, Dr. Emeka Akuta, Mr Collins Ifeanyi Nwokedi (Ntakasi). The event which kicked off at record time was held in a way that every necessary item etc was put in the right place; there was a lot of what to eat and drink. Music was also in an unending supply by the DJ of the event.
In fact, Mr Ifeanyi Iwuoha (Ogwunamama1) who was also present at the event and a relation of the celebrators, (celebrants) disclosed to Umuaka Times that it was an all-night fun and pageantry which also served as a reunion of Akalites who have not seen themselves for some time now.
The man solidly behind the successes achieved by his children and wife, High Chief Benji Iheme was also conspicuously present during the event, making sure that everything successfully went as planned. The man Benji Iheme who is a well-known philanthropist is a man who is synonymous with successes and achievements. About one year ago, Umuaka Times wrote: “US based high profile Akalite, businessman, philanthropist and a top community leader, Chief Benji Iheme has been rejoicing with his family and friends on the honours that have so far come his way in the year 2023. First was in July 2023 when the entire Umuaka community in Dallas presented a prestigious award to him and his wife in recognition of his role towards the Umuaka community in Dallas. Another honour came in August 2023 when the Orlu regional community in Dallas also presented him with an award. Earlier this month, Chief Benji Iheme emerged as the winner of Umuaka Times Outstanding Youths Supporter of the Year Award 2023.”
Today Umuaka Times celebrates with the Ihemes over the successes they achieved in the academic circles. Most importantly, the woman behind the steering wheel of the successful man, Lolo Stella Oluchi Iheme who against all odds of running the home front put up a highly commendable resilience and achieved gold for herself in a highly competitive world of today.
