Big day in Germany as Akalites hold inauguration, empowerment program.

Germany, a Western European country will on Saturday, 19 July 2025 play host to Akalites living in the country under the auspices of an organization known as Akah National Cultural Union. The event which has been christened the Inauguration and Launching of Skills Acquisition Program for Akalites has received global promotions across Europe, America, Asia and many African countries where Akalites reside.Speaking with the UmuakaTimes correspondents in Germany last week,Mazi Joe GoddyDuru O., the president-general of the union disclosed that the event which would hold at the prestigious ErenEventsaalWorthstraBe 192 -194, 47053 Duisburg, will not only be who is who among Akalites living in Germany but it will also showcase the rich cultural heritage and unity that exist among Akalites and Ndi Igbo in diaspora. Several high profile Akalites are expected to grace the event from the United States.
Umuaka Times last week received a special invitation for the program where the newspaper confirmed that the epoch-making ceremony will kick off by 2pm on the appointed date. According to MaziDuru, every plan regarding the effective execution of the event has been properly factored and every bit of the planning has reached 90 percent conclusion. In his words, “We are now putting finishing touches.”
Highly dependable sources that spoke with Umuaka Times from Germany concerning the big show, disclosed that this is the first time Akalites living in the Western European country of Germany would host such an amazing event. Further sources revealed that the executive members of Akah National Cultural Union Germany really worked round the clock and even did the impossible to successfully package the event.
In a press statement exclusively issued to Umuaka Times, Mazi Joe Goddy Duru thanked all the members of his cabinet and for a work well done. He further disclosed their names and offices thus: President- General, Mazi Goddy Duru, Vice President, Mr Charlie Dire, Secretary-General, Lolo Loveth Ifeoma Ibewuba-Orji, Lolo Ojiugo Anaechere Eze of Isiozi-Akah Ancient Kingdom and Assistant -Secretary-General, Lolo Christiana Ogechi Obi, Osodieme 1,Ugbele-Akah Ancient Kingdom.
Others include, Financial Secretary, Mr.Oluchi Nnamuka, PRO, Mr Marcel Durugo, Treasurer, Mrs Vivian Durugo. Director of Discipline, Chief Ifeanyi who is also the Ibewuba-Orji 1 of Isiozi-Akah. Assistant Director of Discipline, Mr. Emmanuel Ikenna Oguike.
The organization also has Mr Collins Duruaku who is the patron and one of her strongest pillars. Chief Gab Obi is also a strong pillar the organization boasts of and he is the second patron of the body.
Meanwhile the news of the inauguration has reached Akalites at home and they have deeply expressed their joy on the spirit of oneness and love among the members of Akah National Cultural Union Germany. A man who described himself simply as Chief Ifeanyi appealed to Umuaka Times to send his greetings to the union and her entire members. In his words, the chief said: “This is really good news for us here in the village. Our sons and daughters in Germany have demonstrated that they understand the need to be in peace and unity especially when you are outside the country. Not only that, they are also aware that hardship is the biggest problem here in the country and that is why their program includes skills acquisition. I pray that God gives them the wisdom to achieve success at last.”
As the event date draws nearer by the day, strong indications emerged last week that some highly influential Akalites may as well grace the event from Nigeria. Highly dependable sources confirmed to Umuaka Times that the occasion will showcase some cultural displays by Akah Women Germany Cultural Dance, comedy by Akah Comedy Centre and masquerades displays.
