BREAKING NEWS: Uba community Adopts Eddy Ikwubuo for Councillorship.

The political atmosphere in Uba Umuaka got electrified as the councillorship aspiration of Uba Umuaka born politician and a chieftain of APC, High Chief Eddy Ikwubuo, a couple of days ago, received a tremendous boast when the community (Umuaka Ancient Kingdom) gave an endorsement and a unanimous support towards his political aspiration and ambition. Umuaka Times reliably gathered from some top community leaders that the unanimous endorsement was done in a meeting the community held on August 21, 2024 in Umuezikeukwu Uba community.
According to the press statement Umuaka Times received from High Chief Ikwubuo, the endorsement came after the Uba community realized that it was indeed her turn to produce the next councilor to represent the most famous Umuaka Ward 1 as every community in the ward made up of Uba, Achara and Obinwanne have all got their fair shares.
High Chief Ikwubuo in an exclusive interview with Umuaka Times confirmed that several high profile personalities of Uba Umuaka extraction, have not only identified with the project but have also made sum huge amount of money available to him to effectively pursue and engineer his councillorship ambition to the good of all in the ward.
“The great sons and daughters of our community have identified with the project and many more are still pledging their support. People like Rev Samuel Osunwa, Chief Chris Nwachukwu, Engineer Vice Onyemepu, Mr Chigozie Dike, Barrister Gloria Akano, the Ikemes and the Anyibes have all reached me personally with their support and words of encouragement. I really thank them a lot.”
Chief Ikwubuo who also acknowledged that most of the people who have supported him did that based on their ideological understanding that the position indeed belongs to Uba. On the ideology Chief Ikwubuo tried to propagate in Njaba Ward 1, Umuaka Times asked him why he was not interested to sponsor someone to the office rather than himself, he disclosed that he approached two prominent sons of Uba community and they declined. “At this juncture, I had to vie for the position myself.”
Still on the issue at hand, Chief Ikwubuo told Umuaka Times that the three communities that make up Umuaka Ward 1 have produced three councilors each and the rotation would then start afresh. “No matter the name you call it, a counselor is a councilor despite who organizes the election.”
On his final note, the Agunechemba Umuaka used the opportunity and appealed to the members of Umuaka Ward 1 to massively give him the support he wants in order to represent the ward effectively because in his own views, “I am the best man for the job”. He further displayed his sympathy towards Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous who according to him, the tenure of every of their councilors was cut short.
