1 min readThe Traditional Prime Minister of Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community, Chief Celestine Agu, the Ekwembiriba Umuaka, has lost his maternal uncle, Sir Dominic C. Nganwuchu. Chief Ngwnwuchu who was also a Knight of St John retired from Food Specialties Nigeria Limited.
When Umuaka Times called on Chief Agu earlier last week, he confirmed the death of the top community leader who was also the proprietor of Chineme Super Market Onitsha. According to Chief Agu, the late Nganwuchu will be buried on November 25, 2022 in his family compound in Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community.
From what Umuaka Times gathered, the late Chief Nganwuchu served the late Professor JOL Ezeala in Port Harcourt. During his school days, Chief Nganwuchu was known for his academic brilliance but due to some certain factors, he stopped his academic sojourn at Standard Six. As a man who had interest in western education, what he could not achieve in education personally, was what he trained his children to achieve. To his amiable credit, the late Chief Ngwnwuchu produced 6 graduates, made up of a medical doctor, lawyer, engineer, bank manager and others.
While reacting over his death, Chief Celestine Agu lamented, “The late Chief Nganwuchu was the Ozuo Omee 1 of Umuaka, he was the one that trained me. In fact by his death, I have again lost another father and a better part of me.”
