Chidi Appiah Osuagwu to bag Umuaka Merit Award today.

High Chief Chidi Appiah Osuagwu, an Ibele born Akalite and a businessman will today being Sunday February 22 2026 receive his Umuaka Times Who is Who Merit Award (Diamond Edition) in faraway Lagos State. High Chief Osuagwu who is a well-known philanthropist is a Lagos based businessman who has spent a large chunk of his personal fortune on charity and helping the poor and the sick without boundaries.
Speaking with Umuaka Times Lagos correspondent last week, Chief Osuagwu thanked the editors of the newspapers for finding him worthy for the award. It can be recalled that Chief Osuagwu had two years ago, won an award from Umuaka Times as the Most Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year in 2023.
Just last week, High Chief Osuagwu made a donation of N5,000,000 to assist in the repairs of A-Line axis of Umuaka Ukwu Orji Road. Shortly before then, he had donated the sum of N700,000 for the surgery of a 15 year orphan Mr Chimbuchi.
Umuaka Times gathered that High Chief Chidi Osuagwu has also spent a stupendous amount of money to promote football activities in Umuaka and beyond. Many Akalites, friends and business colleagues of the awardee are expected to witness the event which will hold in the Ijaniki area of Lagos.
