Chidi Madu visits Angolan village, donates food items.
2 min readBita, a popular village in the Luanda Province of Angola recently played host to an Akalite based in Angola, Mr. Chidi Madu. From what Umuaka Times gathered from Mr. Madu, the purpose of the visit was to show love to the poor residents of the village and explore some new business opportunities in the community.
On arrival to the village, Madu who was deeply shocked at the high level of poverty in Bita almost burst into tears while he was holding some interactions with the villagers and their children.
According to him, there are some local Portuguese schools and some local healers but the Bita village which is under killamba LGA in Luanda has no single hospital, no good water supply and above all, they all live in huts and the Bita women give births in their homes. Despite all these, “the people are still very happy.”
Umuaka Times correspondent in Angola gathered that the villagers in Bita, especially the children, on sighting Mr. Madu, came out in their group to welcome him. He was so pleased on the level of love shown to him by the villagers and their children.
Moved by the Covid19 crisis, hardship and hunger, Madu donated some food items and cash gifts to the villagers. While receiving the gifts, the elderly ones among them who were so happy to welcome such a visitor to their community, gathered all the families who were privileged to benefit from the cash and food items from Madu, and offered special prayers for him.
The Angolan government has shown some signs and even concluded some plans to use the Bita village as a new business city. By extension or implication, this means that the poor people of Bita village will be evacuated and settled in another area.
