Chief Declan Dire tasks grassroots politicians on charity.
2 min readAmerican based philanthropist and businessman Chief Declan Ibezimako Dire (Chief DID), the Ariri Eri Mba 1 of Umuaka, has called on grassroots politicians to demonstrate their political sagacity by first coming to the rescue of the downtrodden and poverty-stricken local residents in their various communities in Njaba LGA. The Aririeri Mba who won the Umuaka Times Most Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year 2021 made this call while addressing the case of a two year old boy who fell victim of domestic accident.
According to the video clip Umuaka Times obtained from the mother of the little Master Chukwuemeka Chukwudi, it was disclosed in the clip that Master Chukwuemeka fell victim of fire domestic accident when his mother left him in her kitchen under no one’s care while looking for pampers to buy for the little boy. Perhaps out of curiosity of children, the little boy moved towards the pot of soup on fire and got burnt seriously. From June last month, Umuaka Times has been soliciting for financial help on behalf of Master Chukwuemeka’s mother to carry out the final corrective surgery.
It is the case of Master Chukwuemeka that has made Chief Dire to appeal to local politicians to do their best and fully incorporate charity and corporate social responsibilities on their to-do list. He however tasked public office seekers and grassroots politicians especially those from Umuaka, Njaba and the entire Orlu zone to start on time to practice life of selfless service to the people than to learn it when they get into office. Despite the conversations Chief Dire had with Umuaka Times on the role politicians are expected to play, he also commented on the same subject in a whatsapp group known as Akah Political Circle last week where he advised: “Knowing fully well that they are out for the public, they MUST DONATE. Practice makes perfect. Let them start practicing NOW on how to IMPACT in public life so that when they are voted in, they will continue from where they stopped”.
In his final conclusion, Chief Dire, also appealed to politicians to always live a life worthy of emulation and remember the plight of the poor who have confidence in them.
