South African based Akalite and businessman Mr Uche Iwuji has described the late Chief Gabriel Owowo who was buried last week as a father to him. This disclosure was made by Iwuji when he called Umuaka Times last week to discuss the issue of the death of Chief Owowo. Iwuji told Umuaka Times that he got to know about the man when his son, the American based Emmanuel Owowo popularly known as Kato came to marry his elder sister, former Miss Ijeoma Iwuji.
In his own words, Iwuji extolled the virtues of the late chief as a man of wisdom whose fatherly advice usually got straight to his bones anytime he visited Nigeria. “I don’t know of any time I visited Nigeria without going to visit him just to spend a quality time with him. In return, he took me like a son and always blessed me on any occasion visited.”
Iwuji used the opportunity to ask God to receive the soul of the man of peace and advised his brother in-law and other members of the Owowo household to bear the loss and maintain the lifestyle of the late chief.
