Chief Ikwubuo explains why mother was buried months ago.
1 min readDespite the variety of church and social events which was held to mark the final passage of late Lolo Roseline Ego-Oyibo Ikwubuo, her corpse was not made available for people to see during the ceremonies. The head of the Ikwubuo family, Chief Eddy Ikwubuo during the Requiem Mass of his late mother, explained to the congregation what really happened.
According to Chief Ikwubuo, his mother died during the peak period of Covid19 lockdown with a wish that her corpse should not stay long in the mortuary. In keeping with the wish of the matriarch, after some consultations were made, the family arranged for the burial of the woman according to her wish. This happened during the period when the state government made it a rule never to allow more than 50 persons to attend any event. The aim of this rule was to curtail the spread of Covid19 in the state. “Now that the lockdown has been relaxed, the family found the need to officially bury our mother.”
